Our Family began it's beekeeping Journey nearly 45 years ago when my father purchased his first beehives and moved to the little town of Hunters, Wa. He built up quite an operation durring the 1980's and 90's running over 2000 hives. About 35 years ago my sister and brother-in-law purchased the company (Artesian Honey Co.) from my father and continue to run around 4000 hives based out of their home near Loon Lake, Wa. Having grown up in a beekeeping family and working in the business for nearly 20 years my wife and I started Sunrise Honey Company based out of Deer Park in 2005! In 2011 we moved our business just north of Deer Park and now work out of our home in Clayton, WA. We currently run over 1000 Hives. In 2012 we purchaced "Greenbluff Honey Farm" from our friends Harry and Patti Smitts of Colbert WA. We now bottle and sell all of our Honey under the "Greenbluff Honey" label in grocery stores and fruit stands throughout the Spokane area and across the Pacific Northwest. We place our hives in several honey production locations across Northern Spokane County and Southern Stevens county that include the areas of Greenbluff, Colbert, Riverside, Elk, Deer Park, Clayton and Loon Lake. In January we take the bees to California to pollinate Almond Trees in Central California. The bees then come back to Central Washington around the end of March and begin pollinating Apples, Cherries, Peaches, Pears etc.... We then bring the bees home in May to begin local honey production again. We enjoy the satisfaction that comes from working with these amazing creatures, and look forward to serving the local community by continuing to provide pollination for crops and some of the best Pure Raw Honey you will ever taste!!!
